Černá studnice

Černá studnice (German: Schwarzbrunn (berg) , also Schwarzbrunnkoppe ) is a mountain in the Czech part of the Jizera Mountains in the Okres Jablonec nad Nisou . The 869  m high summit is considered to be the local mountain of Jablonec nad Nisou . The watershed between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea runs over the ridge . At its northern foot rises in Nová Ves nad Nisou the Neisse and southwest in Maršovice the Mohelka .

In 1885 the mountain association for the Jeschken and Jizera Mountains made the two summit rocks accessible and built a first refuge. The Schwarzbrunnwarte with a stone observation tower was opened in 1905. The solid tower, which was designed by the Gablonzer architect Robert Hemmrich and built by the builder Corazza, is one of the highest in the Jizera Mountains at 26 meters. 160 cm thick foundation walls made of granite blocks weighing up to 3 tons give the necessary stability to withstand the harsh environmental conditions in the summit area.

An accommodation house was built directly next to the tower. After the last expansion, the house had a capacity of 300 people. There is a restaurant on the ground floor. In 1925 an arboretum was created on the Schwarzbrunnberg . After its devastation in the years after World War II, the small botanical garden was rebuilt in 2009.
