The Mohelka is a right tributary of the Jizera ( Iser ) in the Czech Republic .
course
The Mohelka rises in the Jizera Mountains as Mohelnice south of the Maršovický vrch (743 m), a foothill of the Černá studnice (German: Schwarzbrunnberg ) in the municipality of Maršovice (German: Marschowitz ) at 570 m nm
It initially flows in a westerly direction through the Jeschken-Kosakow ridge , where the towns of Kokonín , Pulečný , Rychnov u Jablonce nad Nisou (German: Reichenau bei Gablonz an der Neisse ) and Rádlo (German: Radl ) lie on the river. Here it turns south and along the Mohelka to Žďárek the expressway R 35 / E 442 between Liberec and Turnov leads .
Other places on the river, which then runs westwards, are Hodkovice nad Mohelkou , Žďárek, Radostín, Sychrov , Třtí, Letařovice and Libíč. Here the Mohelka changes its direction to the southwest and the villages Janovice, Podhora u Pěnčína, Chlístov, Buřínsko, Chocnějovice and Podhora follow. Between Horní Mohelnice, Mohelnice nad Jizerou and Sychrov nad Jizerou, the Mohelka flows into the Jizera after 41.6 km at an altitude of 219.7 m nm . The ruins of Zásadka Castle are enthroned on the left bank of the Jizera above the estuary. The catchment area of the river is 176.5 km².
