The Okres Děčín (German: Tetschen district ) is a district in Ústecký kraj (Aussig / Elbe region) in the Czech Republic . The okresy were to 2002 roughly comparable to the counties are in Germany and today no independent administrative units more.
Okres Děčín is the northernmost district in Ústecký kraj . The area is around 909 km², 450 km² of which is accounted for by forests and 365 km² by agricultural area. 129,831 inhabitants live in 52 municipalities, including 14 cities (as of January 1, 2019).
Economically, the district has seen major structural changes in recent years. Large companies were closed and unemployment rose sharply. Economic activity shifted from production to trade and services.
The district offers ideal conditions for relaxation thanks to its numerous natural riches and historical monuments.
