history

Church of the Assumption in Arnoltice

Arnsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1352.

The place lives mainly from tourism and has log and half-timbered houses typical of the area on the village green. There is a former windmill north of the village.

In the forest west of Arnoltice, not far from Belvedere Allee, there is the atonement cross erected in 1776 for the Arnsdorf resident Matthäus Gaudernack.

A hiking trail leads through the Suché Kamenice valley along the Arnoltické stěny (Arnsdorf walls) into the Elbe valley above Hřensko .

Culture and sights

The late baroque church of the Assumption of Mary was built in 1757/58 according to plans by the master builder Johann Wenzel Kosch . After a fire on November 1, 1906, the structure was restored in 1959.

The Marian Column was created in the 18th century.

The windmill was converted into a residential building.
