history

The origin of the community can be traced back to 1411 as a result of the gradual settlement along the Lužnička brook. During this time, a small wooden parish church was built on the site of today's church, and some parishes in the area joined its pastoral care district. The villages of Světlík, Ladečka and Žofín were merged into Horní Podluží in 1885 and were part of the Warnsdorf judicial district . The inhabitants earned their income mainly from agriculture and from linen and later also cotton processing. There was a great boom in textile production in the second half of the 19th century.
