Adriane Lenox

Adriane Lenox (born September 11, 1956 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American theater and film actress .

Life

Adriane Lenox began singing at an early age and, as a child, performed in choirs and at festivals at Christmas and Easter. She attended Lambuth College in Jackson , Tennessee, where she earned an acting degree. Then she went to New York and appeared in the Broadway -Stück Is not Misbehavin on. This was followed by other theater roles and small film appearances, including as a guest actor in the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .

From 2005 to 2006 she played a 12-minute role in John Patrick Shanley's Broadway play Doubt at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York , which was later made into a film under the title Faith . It was her first theater appearance in which she took on a speaking part after she had always sung. For this role she received the Tony Award in the Best Supporting Actress category.

In 2006 and 2009, respectively, Lenox took on supporting roles in the US film dramas Black Snake Moan and Blind Side - The Big Chance . Since 2011 she has played the sherry in the sitcom 30 Rock and Angel Auroro in the legal series Damages - Im Netz der Macht .

Lenox is married to the musician and dance arranger Zane Mark. Their daughter Crystal Joy is a musical performer.
