history

After 1583 the village belonged completely to Žlutice. In 1709 the fortress was converted into a castle.

After the abolition of patrimonial Groß Werscheditz / Velké Verušice with the district Dollanka / Dolánky formed a community in the Luditz district. In 1921 the Czech name was changed to Verušice. In 1930, 173 people lived in the agricultural town. After the Munich Agreement , the largely German-populated village was added to the German Reich in 1938, and until 1945 it belonged to the Luditz district . In 1939 Groß Werscheditz had 197 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the place came back to Czechoslovakia and the German residents were expelled. In 1950 the Okres Žlutice was abolished, Verušice was incorporated into Žlutice and assigned to the Okres Toužim. During the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Toužim was dissolved; since that time the place belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary. Between 1965 and 1968, the Střela stagnated southwest of the village . Dolánky was dissolved and sank in the Žlutice dam . In 1991 the place had 47 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 12 houses in which 34 people lived.
