Semtěš (German Semtisch ) is a district of the municipality Pšov in the Czech Republic . It is located two kilometers southwest of Žlutice and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .

geography

Semtěš is located in the Tepler highlands on the right side above the valley of the Borecký potok. The Mlýňanský vrch (634 m) rises to the northwest, behind which lies the Žlutice dam . In the northeast lie the Nevděk (630 m) and the Krkavec (575 m). To the south rises the Semtěšský vrch (593 m), in the southwest of the Pohořelec (554 m) and in the west of the Ptačí vrch (625 m). To the west runs the Rakovník - Bečov nad Teplou railway line , which runs through the Borecký potok valley and crosses the loops of the brook in two tunnels at Pohořelec. The "Borek u Žlutic" train station is just under a kilometer west of Semtěš in the valley near Nový Dvůr.

Neighboring towns are Verušice in the north, Žlutice and Hradský Dvůr in the northeast, Strahovský Mlýn and Kobylé in the east, Pšov in the southeast, Borek in the south, Nový Dvůr and Štědrá in the southwest, Mostec in the west and Skoky in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1365 in a document Boresch V. von Riesenburg . In 1474 the village in the Landtafel was assigned to the Luditz hospital . The village was parish after Kobylé .

In 1850 the political community Semtisch / Semtěš was established in the Luditz district . In 1900 Semtisch consisted of 22 houses and had 107 German-speaking residents. In 1930 the village had 126 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Semtisch was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 the village belonged to the Luditz district . In 1939 Semtisch had 104 inhabitants. After the end of the war, Semtěš returned to Czechoslovakia and was classified in the Okres Toužim in 1949. On January 1, 1961, it was incorporated into Pšov , at the same time the village became part of the Karlovy Vary Okres. The Semtěšský Mlýn located in the Borecký potok valley also belongs to the cadastre. In 1991 the place had 33 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 12 houses in which 26 people lived.
