Močidlec (German Modschiedl ) is a district of the municipality of Pšov in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers north of Manětín and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .
geography
Močidlec is located in the Tepler highlands at the southern foot of the Kamenný vrch (538 m). To the east lies the valley of the Střela , to the south that of the Hrádecký potok. The Vladař (693 m) rises to the north .
Neighboring towns are Vladořice and Bohuslav in the north, Radotín in the northeast, Nový Dvůr in the east, Rabštejn nad Střelou and Stvolny in the southeast, Víska in the south, Novosedly in the southwest, Pšov in the west and Kobylé and Kolešov in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the village comes from 1204 Močidlec was laid out around a large rectangular village square sloping to the south. In 1775 the old church burned down; seven years later, Theresa von Lazan had a new one built.
In 1850 the political municipality of Modschiedl / Močidlce in the Luditz district was established . In 1890 Modschiedl consisted of 80 houses and had 413 German-speaking residents. A coal mine was also operated at this time. In 1930 the village had 370 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Modschiedl was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 the village belonged to the Luditz district . In 1939 Modschied had 376 inhabitants. After the end of the war Močidlec came back to Czechoslovakia and was classified in the Okres Toužim in 1949. On January 1, 1961, it was incorporated into Novosedly and at the same time assigned to Okres Karlovy Vary. 1979 Močidlec was incorporated into Pšov together with Novosedly . In 1991 the place had 78 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 43 houses in which 75 people lived.
