Štědrý hrádek

Štědrý hrádek (also Hrádek u Štědré , German Burglin ) is a castle ruin in Borek , a district of the Pšov municipality in the Karlovarský kraj region , Czech Republic .

The castle was built in the 14th century to replace an older castle belonging to the Bohemian noble family ze Štědré. It was first mentioned in documents in 1361 as the seat of the Bohemian nobleman Vícemil z Borku. In 1379 Boresch von Riesenburg bought the property. His sons sold it to Bušek Calta z Kamenné Hory in 1399. In 1417 Heinrich von Plauen took the castle and used it from then on for his military missions against King Wenzel . A year later, the royalists captured the fortress and burned it down. The lands were returned to the rightful owner Vilém Bukovinov z Pnětluk, who was also given permission by King Sigismund five years later to renovate the castle. However, he sold his lands to the Hussite Jakoubek z Vřesovic . In 1488 Johann von Gutenstein became the owner, a short time later the castle came under the rule of the neighboring landowners and Burglin lost its importance.

Today there are still some remains of the wall and the moat on a rock.
