Gießhübel Castle (Kysibl)

Stružná , until 1949 Kysibl (German Gießhübel ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers southeast of Karlovy Vary and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .

geography

Stružná is located in the west of the Duppau Mountains on the edge of the Hradiště military training area . To the northeast rises the Plešivec ( Plesselberg , 841 m), south of the Rumisko (776 m).

Neighboring towns are Činov in the north, Bražec and the former command post of the Hradiště military training area in the south-east, Horní Tašovice and Dlouhá Lomnice in the south, Podlesí, Peklo and Nová Víska in the south-west, Žalmanov in the west and Andělská Hora in the north-west.

The village of Dlouhá ( Langgrün ), east of the Lomnický potok valley , with its district Kostelní Hůrka ( Am Berg ) was destroyed after the military area was established. Only a few buildings on the outskirts of Činov have survived ; the town center on the military training area no longer exists.

history

Gießhübel was first mentioned in a document in 1378. At that time, the village belonged to the Castel Sant'Angelo . The owners were the lords of Riesenberg . Around 1435 Matthias von Schlick acquired the rule. Under the Lords of Plauen , the Lords of Engelsburg and Buchau were united , which continued until the Plauen-Gera line died out in 1572. In 1573 Christoph von Schlick bought Engelsburg. He was followed two years later by his son-in-law Kaspar Colonna von Fels. His son Leonhard Colonna von Fels also acquired the Buchau rule at the beginning of the 17th century. As a result, Engelhaus Castle lost its importance as a mansion and fell into disrepair. From then on we only spoke of the Buchau and Gießhübel gentlemen.

Leonhard Colonna died in 1620 in the battle of Langenlois . After the decisive battle on the White Mountain , his goods were confiscated in 1621 and Gießhübel and Engelsburg, Buchau and Schönau were sold to Hermann Czernin von Chudenitz . In 1731 Franz Joseph Czernin von Chudenitz sold Gießhübel to Adam von Hartig . The property of his son Ludwig Johann Nepomuk Maria Graf von Hartig was foreclosed in 1794 due to excessive indebtedness. Johann Joseph Stiebar von Buttenheim, who suffered the same fate as his predecessor in 1810, became the new master of Gießhübel. Johann Anton Hladik, who had bought the rule at auction, ceded it to Wilhelm von Neuberg in 1829. The village was parish after Sollmus.

After the abolition of patrimonial Gießhübel / Kysibl formed a political municipality in the Luditz district from 1850 .

In 1930 the community had 552 inhabitants. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Gießhübel was annexed to the German Reich in 1938. In 1939 there were 533 people living in Gießhübel. From 1938 to 1945 the community was part of the German district of Luditz and came back to Czechoslovakia after the end of the Second World War. From 1945 the Germans were expelled and the Czech population settled. In 1949 the name was changed to Stružná. From 1946 to 1960 Kysibl or Stružná belonged to the Okres Karlovy Vary-okolí and since 1961 to the Okres Karlovy Vary. Žalmanov with its district of Peklo was incorporated in 1948. In 1961 Tašovice (now Horní Tašovice ) was incorporated with Nová Víska.
