Hory (German Horn ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers west of the city center of Karlovy Vary and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .
geography
Hory is located on the left side of the Eger at the transition from the Falkenauer Basin to the Kaiserwald at the foot of the Roh hill ( Hornberg , 582 m). To the northwest rises the former Loket waste dump, under which the village of Podhoří used to be.
Neighboring towns are Mírová and Zátiší in the north, Jenišov in the north-east, Pod Rohem and Tašovice in the east, Doubí in the south-east, Vildenava in the south, Loket in the south-west, Loučky and Nové Sedlo in the west and Chranišov and Chodov in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of the village of Hory, which belongs to the Elbogen rule , comes from the year 1350. Along the Eger, tin mining was carried out.
After the abolition of patrimonial Horn formed a political municipality in the district of Falkenau with the hamlet of Honiggrün . Since the end of the 19th century honey green has been known as hun green. From 1920 Horn / Hory belonged to the Elbogen district. In 1930 the community had 1,028 inhabitants. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Horn was annexed to the German Reich in 1938. In 1939, 1005 people lived in Horn. From 1938 to 1945 the community was part of the German district of Elbogen and came back to Czechoslovakia after the end of the Second World War.
From 1946 to 1960 Hory belonged to the Okres Karlovy Vary-okolí and since 1961 to the Okres Karlovy Vary. In 1961 Hory including Podhoří was incorporated into Jenišov. From 1975 to 1993 Hory was a district of Karlovy Vary . The community has existed again since 1994.

Attractions
- Hans Heiling rock ; the granite rock group on the left bank of the Eger is just under three kilometers southeast of Hory on the corridors of the municipality. It was protected as a natural monument.
