Kyselka (German Gießhübl Sauerbrunn ) is a municipality in Okres Karlovy Vary in the Karlovy Vary Region ( Karlovarský kraj ) in the Czech Republic .
geography
Kyselka lies on both sides of the Eger at the foot of the Ore Mountains and the Duppau Mountains at an altitude of 340 meters. It borders on the places Velešov , Dubina and Bor .
Immediately in the village, below the Bučina (582 m nm), the valley of the Lomnice brook flows into the Eger valley , so that the place is protected in all directions by wooded ridges. To the south, on the right bank of the Eger, lies the former health resort of Kyselka .
history
The proximity to the spa town of Karlovy Vary ensured that spa guests came to the site early on. In the years 1792/93 a bathing resort was established here, which quickly developed into a well-known health resort due to its medicinal waters from the Kaiser-Franz-Josef and Kaiserin-Elisabeth springs . In the 19th century, the name Gießhübl-Puchstein was common, but before 1900 it took a back seat to that used until 1945. In 1846 a highly regarded specialist article by the balneologist Josef von Löschner appeared on the Gießhübler Sauerbrunn , which contributed to the further popularity of the place.
In 1867 Heinrich Mattoni from Karlsbad leased the bottling of the water from the Otto spring named after the King of Greece in 1853 . In 1873 Mattoni bought the entire town of Gießhübl including the Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Quelle. Under the name Gießhübler Sauerbrunn , he made the water bottled by his stock corporation world famous. Mattoni had a railway line built to Wickwitz in 1890 for shipping . Gießhübl-Sauerbrunn became the head station of the Buschtěhrad Railway . The dispatch finally reached a capacity of 14 million bottles a year.
The influx of guests had its peak before the First World War . In 1942 the new community Gießhübl-Sauerbrunn with the districts Rittersgrün, Rodisfort, Spitzberg, Unter-Lomitz and Ziegendorf was formed from the communities Rodisfort and Unter-Lomitz and parts of the communities Rittersgrün, Schömitz and Zwetbau. However, this change was reversed in 1945. 1950 the municipalities Dolní Lomnice, Radošov and Rydkéřov merged again and together they formed the municipality Kyselka. The district Rydkéřov was renamed Nová Kyselka. The Kysibl Kyselka shares belonging to Dolní Lomnice and Radošov were also renamed Kyselka and the Rydkéřov part was given the new name Stará Kyselka.
The name Mattoni is now a protected brand name of Karlovarské Minerální Vody as (Carlsbad Mineral Water), which still has a branch in Kyselka.
Population and health resort
Kyselka used to live from the spa business. When this went out after the end of the Second World War , numerous houses fell into disrepair.
On December 1, 1930 the place had 552 inhabitants, on May 17, 1939 there were 535 and on May 22, 1947 only 297 inhabitants, most of whom were new settlers from more central parts of Czechoslovakia after the expulsion of the German Bohemians .
Community structure
Kyselka consists of the districts Kyselka ( Gießhübl Sauerbrunn ), Radošov ( Rodisfort ) and Nová Kyselka ( Rittersgrün ), which also form cadastral districts.
