The avenue of lime trees in Kyselka ( Czech : lázeňská lipová alej ) is an avenue of lime trees , the one since 2014 Natural Monument is.

description

The avenue consists of an estimated 17–18 linden trees of different ages and heights, which line a path paved with tiles. It leads past the historic coffee house and the Heinrich von Mattoni statue . It is separated from the through-town , which runs parallel but at a lower level, by a stone wall.

history

The date of the construction of the avenue is controversial. Wealthy spa guests, residents of the city and government organizations are said to have financed it before 1945 in honor of Mattoni , so that she, as Kurallee, shadowed the guests of the café. According to other sources, the avenue was only planted in the 1960s, when Lázně Kyselka was part of a military training area , and was used for local combat training. The trees, overgrown by insufficient care, were pruned again in spring 2014 and declared a natural monument.
