Sara has been taking part in the Balkan Cup since 2008 . In February 2008, she achieved her first podium finishes in Pigadia with third places in the sprint and over 5 km freestyle and at the end of the season she achieved fourth place in the overall standings. The following season she also finished fourth in the overall standings. She was third over 10 km freestyle in Mavrovo . In summer 2009 she won the Rollerski World Cup in mountain running in Pigadia . In the 2011/12 season she came in third and five times in second place in the Balkan Cup. In January 2012 she won her first victory in the Balkan Cup at the sprint in Pigadia and reached fourth place in the overall standings at the end of the season. She ran her first World Cup race in November 2012 in Gällivare , which she finished in 68th place over 10 km freestyle. Her best result at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme was 65th place over 10 km freestyle. At the Balkancup in Predeal in March 2013 she took third place over 5 km classic and second place over 10 km freestyle and reached eighth place in the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup at the end of the 2012/13 season . The 49th place in the sprint was her best placement at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . In the 2014/15 season she came second in the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup. She got three wins and came second once. At the season highlight of the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , she achieved 54th place in the sprint and 47th place in the 10 km freestyle and skiathlon. In the following season she came in second place twice in the Balkan Cup and finished 11th in the overall standings. Her best result at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti was 42nd place in the 30 km mass start race. In the 2017/18 season she won four Balkan Cups and at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang she finished 61st in the sprint and 53rd place over 10 km freestyle.
