Bor (German Haid ) is a district of the Sadov municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northeast of Karlovy Vary and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .

geography

Bor is on the edge of the Falkenau basin at the transition to the Duppau mountains . The village lies in the valley of the Borský potok. In the north rises the Nástraha ( Koderichsberg , 481 m), east of the Studenný vrch (569 m). To the south are the peaks Lysý vrch (512 m) and Ptačí vrch (489 m). State road 13 / E 442 runs on the western edge of the village between Karlovy Vary and Ostrov .

Neighboring towns are Ovčárna and Nejda in the north, Mořičov in the north-east, Stráň in the east, Pulovice in the south-east, Šemnice and Muzikov in the south, Všeborovice and Vysoká in the south-west, Nová Hospoda and Lesov in the west and Nová Víska in the north-west.

history

Since 1342 the existence of one of St. Maria Magdalena church on the heath on the old trade route from the Egertal near Rodisfort across the Ore Mountains . The first written mention of the village "auf der Heide", which belonged to the Elbogen rule , took place in 1369. In 1428 the Hussite leader Jakoubek z Vřesovic conquered the area. Subsequent owners of the village were u. a. the Schlicken , the Counts of Schönburg and the Dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg . In 1690 the Margraves of Baden acquired the property by marriage.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hayd formed a political municipality in the Karlsbad district from 1850 with the districts Neudau and Neudörfl. Since the end of the 19th century, the community name was spelled as Haid . In 1920 Neudörfl broke away and formed its own community. In 1930 Haid had 465 inhabitants.

As a result of the Munich Agreement , Haid was annexed to the German Reich in 1938. In 1939 there were 488 people in Haid. Haid was part of the German district of Karlsbad until 1945 and came back to Czechoslovakia after the end of the Second World War.

From 1946 to 1960 the municipality, which was renamed Bor in 1948, belonged to the Okres Karlovy Vary-okolí. In 1961 Stráň was incorporated , at the same time the village came to Okres Karlovy Vary. On January 1, 1976, Bor was incorporated into Sadov. In 1991 Bor had 196 inhabitants and in 2001 it consisted of 64 apartment buildings in which 235 people lived.
