After 1730 the owner of the Jenikau estate , Johann Baptist Ritter von Minetti, founded a settlement of charcoal burners and glassmakers on the pass under the Pavlovka, which was named after the desolate village. In 1783 Velšov consisted of eight properties. To the east of the settlement, the lordship had the Velešovský Dvůr farm built in the 19th century, which was used to manage the large Jenikauer estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Velšov 1850 a district of the market town Větrný Jeníkov in the district Deutschbrod . At the beginning of the 20th century the place name Velešov prevailed and the village was assigned to the Humpolec district. Since 1961 Velešov belongs to the Okres Jihlava .
