The European route 848 is an approximately 42 kilometers long European route of the intermediate network, which, running from west to east, connects the cities of Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro in the Italian region of Calabria .

The European road starts in the west at the Autostrada A3 ( European road 45 ) at Lamezia Terme , then runs as a two-lane expressway Strada Statale 280 dei Due Mari to Catanzaro , the center of which is connected via the reinforced concrete arch bridge Ponte Bisantis , the largest arch bridge in Italy, and continues on Strada Statale 19q to Catanzaro Marina , where it meets European route 90 ( Strada Statale 106 Jonica ), where it ends.
