The European route 981 (short: E 981 ) is a European route that connects the Anatolian cities Afyonkarahisar , Konya and Ereğli . It is considered to be an important connection from the Turkish Aegean coast to the Çukurova plain in southeastern Turkey.

The European route 981 begins in Afyonkarahisar on the European route 96 and runs from there southeast on the federal road D-300 to Konya . From there it runs on the D-330 federal road via Karapınar and Ereğli to the O-21 motorway , where the E981 joins the European route 90 .
