The motorway triangle Werder (abbreviation: AD Werder ; short form: Dreieck Werder ) is a motorway triangle in Brandenburg in the metropolitan region of Berlin . It connects the federal highway 2 ( Oberhausen - Hanover - Berlin ) to the federal highway 10 ( Berliner Ring ).

geography

The triangle lies on the district of Göhlsdorf in the municipality of Kloster Lehnin in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district . The surrounding towns and communities are Groß Kreutz , Beelitz and Werder (Havel) . It is located about 45 km southwest of downtown Berlin, about 20 km southwest of Potsdam and about 85 km east of Magdeburg .

It is not far from the catchment areas of the Nuthe-Nieplitz and Hoher Fläming nature parks .

The Werder motorway triangle has junction number 21 on the A 10 and number 81 on the A 2.

history

The A 10 to the north and the A 2 were released in 1936, the A 10 to the southeast in 1937. The triangle was built as a left-hand trumpet, but after the renovation from 1996 to 1999 it was replaced by a full triangle. The original design can still be seen today through the trees. During the GDR era, this motorway triangle was called the Magdeburg branch and was part of the transit route between Berlin (West) and the Helmstedt / Marienborn border crossing. In the 1950s, the name Brandenburger Abzweig was common.

Design and state of development

The A 2 has six lanes, as is the A 10 to the Potsdam triangle . The A 10 to the Havelland triangle has four lanes. All connecting ramps have two lanes.

The triangle was laid out as a complete triangle in full-Y shape.

The main route leads in one swing to the east and connects the eastern A 10 with the A 2 running to the west.

Traffic volume

Around 80,000 vehicles drive through the triangle every day.
