The motorway junction Hannover-Ost (abbreviation: AK Hannover-Ost ; short form: Kreuz Hannover-Ost ) is a motorway junction in Lower Saxony in the Hanover region . This is where the federal motorway 2 ( Oberhausen - Hanover - Berlin ) ( Europastraße 30 ) and the federal motorway 7 ( Flensburg - Kassel - Füssen ) ( Europastraße 45 ) intersect .
geography
The cross is in the area of the city of Lehrte , the surrounding cities are Isernhagen , Burgdorf and Hanover . The cross is located 10 km northeast of Hanover city center, about 250 km west of Berlin and about 130 km south of Hamburg . As an important traffic junction , the Hannover-Ost junction connects a large east-west connection (A 2; Netherlands - Poland ) with a large north-south connection (A 7; Denmark - Austria ).
On the A 2 the cross bears the junction number 48, on the A 7 the number 57.
modification
In March 2011, extensive renovation work began at the Hanover-East motorway junction in order to expand the previously only provisional lanes of the BAB 7 with six lanes with hard shoulder according to the standard, and to enlarge the interlacing areas. The construction work lasted until August 23, 2013. Subsequently, the expansion of the A 2 to AS Lehrte for the use of hard shoulders when there was a risk of congestion and further work on the surface and binder layers of the main and overtaking lanes began. The work was completed in the summer of 2014 and, including the work carried out between 2011 and 2013, cost around 32.7 million euros . The hard shoulders were converted into continuous interlacing strips in both directions by adding additional emergency bays by December 2016, but if necessary (e.g. broken down vehicles) they can be blocked by LED boards and variable message signs on traffic sign bridges.
Development condition and design
The A 2 is currently equipped with three lanes in each direction in this area, as is the A 7. All transfers are made in two stripes.
The motorway junction is designed as a classic clover leaf . The motorway area of the cross is provided with dynamic signpost displays ( DWiSta ).
Traffic volume
The motorway junction is used by around 159,000 vehicles every day, making it one of the busiest in Lower Saxony.
