The Hamburg-Nordwest motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Hamburg-Nordwest ; short form: Hamburg-Nordwest triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Hamburg . It connects the federal highway 7 ( Flensburg - Füssen ; E 45 ) with the federal highway 23 ( west coast highway ).
geography
The motorway triangle is located in the city of Hamburg , more precisely in the Eidelstedt district in the Eimsbüttel district . The surrounding districts are Niendorf , Schnelsen and Stellingen . It is located about 10 km northwest of downtown Hamburg , about 50 km south of Neumünster and about 25 km southeast of Elmshorn .
The Hamburg-Nordwest motorway triangle has junction number 25 on the A 7 and number 22 on the A 23.
Design and state of development
The A 23 and A 7 to the north have four lanes, the A 7 to the south has six lanes. The connecting ramp A 7 North-A 23 is single-lane, the remaining ramps are two-lane.
The motorway triangle is designed as an incomplete triangle . The missing link from the A 23 to the northern A 7 is served via the Hamburg-Eidelstedt exit .
As part of the PPP project between the federal government and Via Solutions Nord , the A 7 between the Bordesholm triangle and the Hamburg-Nordwest triangle is being expanded to three and further to the Elbe Tunnel to four lanes in each direction. The expansion, which is expected to last until 2019, will also result in minor changes in traffic management within the motorway triangle.
Traffic volume
The triangle is traveled by an average of around 127,000 vehicles every day.
