The motorway triangle Salzgitter (abbreviation: AD Salzgitter ; short form: Dreieck Salzgitter ) is a motorway triangle in Lower Saxony in the metropolitan region of Hanover . It connects the federal highway 39 ( Hamburg  - Salzgitter ) with the federal highway 7 ( Flensburg  - Hanover  - Kassel  - Füssen ) ( E 45 ).

geography

The triangle lies in the municipality of Holle in the Hildesheim district . The surrounding communities are Söhlde , Schellerten and Baddeckestedt . The closest districts are Grasdorf , Sillium , Holle-Ort, Binder and Wartjenstedt . It is located about 65 km north of Göttingen , about 30 km southwest of Braunschweig and about 45 km southeast of Hanover .

The Salzgitter motorway triangle is number 64 on the A 7 and number 45 on the A 39.

Design and state of development

Both motorways have four lanes in this area. The connecting ramps have two lanes as they mark the end of the A 39. There are only the routes Kassel - Braunschweig and vice versa, the missing ramps to Hanover are taken over by the B 6 (direct connection between the Baddeckestedt (A 39) and Derneburg / Salzgitter (A 7) exits).

The triangle is designed as a fork .

Expansion from 2019

On July 4, 2019, the expansion work to set up a driveway from Hamburg / Hanover began. For this purpose, three new ramps will be built, the old connection from the A 39 in the direction of Göttingen will be demolished for structural reasons. The construction is expected to cost around 19 million euros.

After completion of the work, the triangle will be designed as a left-hand trumpet.

The triangle is used by around 65,000 vehicles every day.
