The motorway triangle Braunschweig-Südwest (abbreviation: AD Braunschweig-Südwest ; short form: Dreieck Braunschweig-Südwest ) is a motorway triangle in Lower Saxony in the metropolitan region of Hanover . It connects the federal highway 39 ( Hamburg - Salzgitter ) with the federal highway 391 ( Westtangente Braunschweig ).
geography
The motorway triangle lies in the urban area of Braunschweig . The closest city districts are the Westliche Ringgebiet , Heidberg-Melverode , Broitzem , Rüningen and Weststadt . It is located about 4 km south of Braunschweig city center, about 55 km southeast of Hanover and about 15 km northeast of Salzgitter .
Southeast of the triangle is the Braunschweiger Südsee and the Oker .
The Braunschweig-Südwest motorway triangle has junction number 35 on the A 39 and number 8 on the A 391.
Remodeling 2012
The motorway triangle was rebuilt so that the A 39 runs through the triangle as the main carriageway; previously the A 39 from Salzgitter merged into the A 391 and vice versa ( TOTSO variant). The reason for the conversion was the completion of the A 39 south and east of Braunschweig and the resulting gap to the Wolfsburg / Königslutter motorway junction ( A 2 ), whereby the A 39 is used as a feeder for long-distance traffic from / to the south. The plan approval procedure for the renovation began at the end of February 2007; the plan approval decision was made on June 6, 2008. Construction work began in November 2008 and was completed on August 28, 2012.
