The green area at Sodenmattsee is located in the Bremen district of Huchting , district of Sodenmatt .

history

The Sodenmattsee was created as a quarry pond from 1962 in connection with the extraction of sand for the expansion of federal highway 75 . On the west side of the lake, a shallow water zone was created as a bathing area with a DLRG station . The first paths and footpaths circled the lake and the existing green alder forest (now a 1.2 hectare nature reserve ) was expanded with trees and bushes. In the 1960s there was still an old farm on a Wurt , which today marks the location as a hill. An indoor swimming pool, several old people's centers, two schools, sports facilities and the district farm completed the settlement around this area.

The park was gradually developed from the lake to the Mittelhuchtinger Fleet parallel to the structural densification of the district. Between 2002 and 2004, the park was significantly upgraded with new meadows and green areas, the expansion of paths, play areas, hills and recreational areas. New residential areas and senior housing complexes now limited the area in the southeast.

The green center Huchting in the middle of the district links the districts Sodenmatt, Kirchhuchting and Mittelhuchting with the areas of living, leisure, recreation and sport with the natural area.
