The Salem College (formerly Salem Academy ), founded in 2012, is an educational institution that prepares high school graduates for their academic and professional future within an orientation year in three trimesters . In the Studium Generale , qualified lecturers provide insights into the natural , human and social sciences and introduce interdisciplinary working methods.

The college campus is located in Überlingen on Lake Constance and is affiliated with the Salem International College.

The Salem Kolleg follows the tradition of the Schule Schloss Salem and its founder Kurt Hahn . The students live on campus in Überlingen from September to July and attend the seminars offered there.

Everyday student life can be experienced in freshman courses at the University of Konstanz and the HTWG Konstanz .

The offer is supplemented by block seminars on various topics as well as courses in the field of theater, music, languages ​​and sport and also includes a research trip as part of the scientific project “Social Reality Europe”.

With the help of individual potential analyzes and counseling interviews, the students get to know their individual strengths and talents even better and acquire the ability to make a well-founded study choice.

Living together on the modern campus on Lake Constance and the accompanying “Outdoor Leadership Training” is about developing your own personality and mastering it together with other challenges.

The application requirement is a university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur , Fachabitur , Matura ); For international degrees (e.g. IB ), knowledge of German (at least C1 according to GeR ) is required. Admission to the Salem College requires successful participation in a selection interview. Individual grants can be awarded for the orientation year at the Salem Kolleg.

The Salem College is non-profit and is privately owned by the Schule Schloss Salem e. V. Chairman of the Management Board has been Dr. Maximilian Dietzsch-Doertenbach, founding rector of the college is Gerhard Teufel. Claudia Groot (academic director) is in charge of the management.
