The motorway triangle Wittstock / Dosse (abbreviation: AD Wittstock / Dosse ; short form: Dreieck Wittstock / Dosse ) is a motorway triangle in Brandenburg in the metropolitan region of Berlin . It connects the federal highway 19 ( Rostock - Wittstock / Dosse ) with the federal highway 24 ( Hamburg - Berlin ).

geography

The motorway triangle is located in the urban area of Wittstock / Dosse , after which it is named, and in the municipal area of Heiligengrabe in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district . The closest districts are the Wittstocker Wohnplatz Scharfenberg and the Heiligengraber district Papenbruch . It is located about 170 km east of Hamburg, about 105 km south of Rostock and about 100 km northwest of Berlin.

The triangle is not far from the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land nature park .

The border between Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania also runs nearby .

The Wittstock / Dosse motorway triangle has junction number 21 on the A 19 and number 20 on the A 24. It is a “TOTSO” triangle (Turn off to stay on, German: turn off to stay on). If you drive on the A 24 from Berlin and want to stay on the A 24 in the direction of Hamburg, you have to turn here, otherwise you change to the A 19 in the direction of Rostock. The same also applies if you drive on the autobahn from Hamburg: If you want to follow the A 24 towards Berlin, you have to turn here.

Design and state of development

The main route runs in a straight line from north to south-east and connects the A 19 coming from the north with the A 24 running to the east. The western part of the A 24 is connected. Originally the motorway ran from Rostock to Berlin and then became a motorway triangle with the connection from Hamburg.

Both motorways have four lanes. The connecting ramp Hamburg-Rostock and vice versa are single-lane, the remaining ramps are double-lined.

The triangle was designed as a right-handed trumpet.

Traffic volume

The triangle is used by around 42,000 vehicles every day.
