Administration building in Gnoien

The administrative area borders in the north on the district of Vorpommern-Rügen and in the east on the district of Mecklenburg Lake District . The predominantly flat to slightly hilly landscape is traversed by the Warbel , a small tributary of the Trebel , on the banks of which the office has a share in the northeast. The Peene rises south of Gnoien . The highest elevation in the official area is 58 m above sea level. Reached NHN near Walkendorf . The area is dominated by agriculture, but also has tourist potential because of its original nature with forests, meadows, small lakes and barrows . In the Trebeltal there is an approximately eight km² nature reserve .

The federal road 110 ( Rostock - Demmin ) and the connecting road from Teterow to Ribnitz-Damgarten run through the official area . The Ostseautobahn (A 20) passes immediately north of the official area. It has considerably improved the supra-regional connection of the area.
