Lühburg is a district of the municipality of Walkendorf in the east of the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . With effect from May 26, 2019, the previously independent community was incorporated into the south-west adjoining Walkendorf.

geography

The area between the small towns of Gnoien and Ticino lies in the Warbel valley . The small tributary of the Trebel drains the predominantly flat to slightly hilly area. The city of Rostock is about 30 kilometers away.

The districts of Basse, Gottesgabe, Repnitz and Strietfeld belong to Lühburg.

history

Lühburg: The von Bassewitz family owned the estate until 1945, with an interruption from 1782 to 1858. The manor house Lühburg was built around 1725/30; since 2010 Dorothee Calsow, b. Countess Bassewitz, and Wolf-Christian Calsow inhabited. The last mayor of the community of Lühburg was Wilfried Hermann.

Basse: Basse is a Low German and hunter-language word for an older boar and heraldic animal of the Bassewitz family. The estate has been one of the family's first estates since the late Middle Ages. The village church Basse from the 13th and 14th centuries was first mentioned in documents in 1364.

God's gift: The estate has belonged to the von Maltzahn family since the end of the 13th century and to the von Prehn family from the middle of the 14th century . On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community was incorporated into Lühburg.

Repnitz: The property belonged u. a. of the von Bassewitz families (before 1460–1782 and 1901–1945) and von Oertzen (1842–1901); after and before there were frequent changes of ownership. Repnitz Manor was built in 1840.

Strietfeld: The large castle complex was one of the headquarters of the von Moltke family . The manor house built later was demolished in 1998.

Attractions

  • Three-winged mansion Lühburg from around 1725/30 for Ludolph Friedrich von Bassewitz on a medieval wall and ditch system; Neo-Gothic brick turret at the rear from 1885.
  • Gothic village church Basse : first mentioned in 1364, choir and sacristy annex from the 13th century as field stone buildings . Inside: Late medieval grave slabs of the Bassewitz family, numerous stalls from the Reformation period, patronage boxes from later centuries.
  • Stable building in Repnitz : headquarters of the Bullenstall e. V. Repnitz ; In addition to theater performances, project weeks and workshops take place here.

Transport links

The federal road 110 (Rostock– Demmin ) crosses Lühburg. Near the district of Repnitz it crosses the federal motorway 20 (junction Ticino ). The nearest train station is in the city of Ticino, about seven kilometers away (railway line to Rostock).
