In the Steintanz-Warnowtal office ( Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ), which had existed since 1992, the 12 communities Baumgarten , Boitin , Dreetz , Gülzow, Katelbogen, Lübzin, Prüzen, Qualitz, Rosenow , Tarnow (official seat), Warnow and Zernin were Do their administrative business together. On June 1, 1998, the municipalities of Lübzin and Rosenow became the new municipality of Lübzin-Rosenow , which was incorporated into Warnow on January 1, 2000. The former communities Katelbogen and Qualitz came to Baumgarten on January 1st, 1999. On June 13, 1999 Boitin and on January 1, 2000 Zernin was incorporated into Tarnow. Finally, on June 13, 2004, the communities of Gülzow and Prüzen merged to form the community of Gülzow-Prüzen .

The Steintanz-Warnowtal office was dissolved on January 1, 2005. The communities Baumgarten, Dreetz, Tarnow and Warnow were incorporated into the Bützow-Land office , the Gülzow-Prüzen community into the Güstrow-Land office. The name stone dance referred to the Boitiner stone dance .
