Heinrich Martin Theodor Behm (born April 30, 1853 in Thelkow , † May 11, 1930 in Schwerin ) was a Lutheran theologian and regional bishop of Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

Heinrich Behm, son of a pastor, attended school in Parchim and then began studying Protestant theology at the Universities of Leipzig and Rostock , which he obtained in Rostock in 1878 with a doctorate. Phil graduated. During his studies he became a member of SBV Nordalbingia Leipzig in 1873 . Heinrich Behm initially took over a position as a high school teacher in Doberan in 1879 . In 1883 he became parish priest in Schlieffenberg and in 1887 in Parchim, before he was appointed cathedral preacher in Güstrow in 1897 . In 1900 Behm was appointed superintendent in Doberan and, after nine years, superintendent in Schwerin. In 1913 the University of Rostock awarded him an honorary doctorate in Protestant theology.

Finally, in 1921, Heinrich Behm was elected the first regional bishop of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . He held the office of bishop until his death in 1930. Heinrich Rendtorff was his successor .

Heinrich Behm was co-founder and deputy chairman of the Mecklenburg Jewish Mission Association in 1885 .

His son was the New Testament scholar Johannes Behm .
