Great stone grave Liepen 8
The large stone grave Liepen 8 is a north-west-south-east oriented, excavated and reconstructed passage grave by Ewald Schuldt in 1965 in a small, square megalithic bed with 14 preserved and 15 missing curbs, with the Sprockhoff number. 355.
It is located in the municipality of Thelkow in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It originated between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). About 1.1 km northeast of Liepen, not far from the Recknitz, a signposted forest path branches off from a field path to the graves Liepen 7 and Liepen 8, in a conspicuous group of trees to the right of the field path is the Liepen 10 facility in the field.
Of the approximately six meters long, 1.6 m high and 1.8 m wide chamber of the large stone grave , 14 bearing stones and three of the original four cap stones have been preserved. Two out of three of the 3.5 m long lateral corridor, which faces south-west and starts in the middle. The facility has four quarters . The plank consists of red sandstone slabs and clay screed that has been red-annealed by firing . The archaeological investigation revealed that the facility had been used by the owners of the Elb-Havel group and the spherical amphora culture . In addition to charcoal, human bones (including four skulls) and 79 shards, there were 52 blades , the largest number in a plant in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 40 cross-cutters , six amber beads (three of which were double-axed ), five blade scrapers, five scrapers , four striking stones , three A narrow chisel, three double-conical vessels, two shoulder vessels, two wide-mouthed vessels, two drills, a sandstone disc, a flat ax, a gouge , a funnel-shaped bowl and a barrel-shaped vessel.
