The Deutsche Bläserjugend (DBJ) was founded in 1981 as an independent youth organization of the Federal Association of German Music Associations (BDMV). Its 21 member associations represent more than 320,000 young people in more than 10,000 wind bands , music associations, minstrels and fanfares . It is the nationwide representation of the interests of all children and young people in the association, a recognized provider of free youth welfare and a member of the German Federal Youth Association (DBJR) as well as the Federal Association for Cultural Education for Children and Young People (BKJ).

The association is dedicated to interdisciplinary, association youth work and represents the interests of young wind players in musical youth issues. It forms a specialist forum for projects in child and youth work in Germany for its member youth organizations , carries out central multiplier training courses, as a so-called central office for international youth encounters, passes on grants to the member associations, assumes socio-political responsibility and takes a position on issues in the Areas of youth, education and cultural policy. In cooperation with associations and institutions, it develops the forms of association and musical youth work,

Together with the member associations, the association has defined a nationwide training framework for the training and further education of youth group leaders and documented it in the “Guidelines and Work Aids for Training Volunteer Employees in Youth Work”. The association is responsible for the framework guidelines for the musical education of children and young people and, together with the member associations, develops framework guidelines (D1, D2, D3) as the basis for professional education and training.

history

The association was founded in 1981 with Willibald Groß († 2008) as national chairman. In 1982 the first draft of the musical training guidelines (D series) followed, which were then introduced in 1984 throughout Germany by the BDMV. 1986–1988 the processing and publication of guidelines for the training of voluntary workers in youth work took place. In 1989 the Deutsche Bläserjugend organized the youth program "Bläserjugend aktiv" at the 1st German Federal Music Festival in Trier. Since 1992 she has been a member of the Federal Association for Cultural Children and Youth Education

In 1995 a nationwide training for youth leaders was carried out in the form of a tent camp at the 2nd German Music Festival 1995 in Münster. The project “Meeting of young multipliers - exchange of experience and getting to know advanced methods of youth work in music groups” was carried out here. In 1998, the framework guidelines for obtaining the youth group leader card / youth leader card were revised and included in the handout “How to become a youth leader? Of course! ”Published. For the 3rd German Music Festival 2001 in Friedrichshafen, the association invited young people to the “International Youth Camp”. Since 2004 the Deutsche Bläserjugend has been a full member of the Deutsche Bundesjugendring eV

As part of the 4th German Music Festival 2007 in Würzburg, the association carried out the youth camp culture factory. Also in 2007 there was the first parliamentary evening of the German Wind Wind Youth. The speech by Federal Chairman Wolfgang Grüneberg became the basis of the later developed youth policy policy paper “DBJ 2020 - Subject with Variations”. In May 2010 the association started the two-year model project “TrendAnalyseProjektEnsemble” (TAPE) on the effectiveness and potential of projector orchestras and in June of the same year carried out the 2010 youth camp at Werbellinsee north of Berlin.

structure

The association is run by a voluntary board. It consists of the federal chairman and four deputies who specialize in general, music, finance and public relations. In addition, there can be up to four assessors. The Deputy Federal Chairs also act as team leaders in their specialist areas and coordinate teams made up of people who want to get involved in certain subject areas without a board mandate. The honorary board is supported by full-time staff in the office in Bonn and in the office in Berlin.
