Danica McKellar
Danica Mae McKellar (born January 3, 1975 in La Jolla , California ) is an American actress and mathematician .
Life
According to her own information, she has ancestors from Portugal ( Azores ), Great Britain ( England , Scotland ), France , Spain , Germany and the Netherlands .
For the first time McKellar was seen in the television series Unknown Dimensions ( The Twilight Zone ) on television. She became known through the family series Wonderful Years , in which she played the role of Winnie Cooper from 1988 to 1993 .
In addition to several small roles in other television series, McKellar also played in some rather insignificant films.
She made her debut as a director with the short film speechless .
In 2003 she played the role of Catherine in the play proof at the San Diego Repertory Theater .
McKellar studied at UCLA until 1998 , graduating summa cum laude and receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. The Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem is named after her, Brandy Winn, and Lincoln Chayes . It states that the critical temperature (Curie temperature) in the Ashkin-Teller model of statistical mechanics is equal to the critical temperature for site percolation . She still lectures at universities and works as a visiting professor at UCLA.
McKellar wrote four non-fiction books aimed at relieving schoolgirls of math fear: Math Doesn't Suck , Kiss My Math , Hot X: Algebra Exposed, and Girls Get Curves - Geometry Takes Shape .
Private
In 2001 McKellar met the composer Mike Verta. The two were married on March 22, 2009 in McKellar's hometown. You have a child born on September 7, 2010. In June 2012, the couple filed for divorce. In November 2014 she married the lawyer Scott Sveslosky.
