Michael Peterson

Michael Peterson (born October 11, 1970 ) is a German manager . In 2016 he became Chief Marketing Officer at DB Fernverkehr AG . He has been the regular chairman of the board since August 1, 2019.

Life

Peterson studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe . He received his doctorate in business administration from the University of Oldenburg .

Act

He then worked for the strategy consultancy Booz & Company in Düsseldorf until 2014 , most recently as partner and managing director. In 2014 he then moved to Deutsche Bahn .

During his time at DB's long-distance transport division , DB Fernverkehr , Peterson initially headed product management . There he was responsible for the implementation of the product image and its development. In mid-2016, Michael Peterson succeeded his predecessor Manuel Rehkopf as the company's new Chief Marketing Officer and in this role played a key role in the digitization of the booking systems and the nationwide roll-out of free WiFi in ICE trains.

After the CEO Birgit Bohle left DB Fernverkehr, Peterson led the company provisionally in personal union with his function as Marketing Director . On August 1, 2019, he took over the position of regular CEO.
