Birgit Bohle (born December 15, 1973 in Remagen ) is a German manager . Until the end of 2018 she was chairman of the board of DB Fernverkehr AG . Since January 2019, she has been the Board Member for Human Resources and Labor Director at Deutsche Telekom AG .

Career

Bohle began her professional career in 1992 with an apprenticeship at BASF . Then studied at the College of Management in Vallendar at Koblenz and at the University of Austin economics .

In 2000 she started working for the management consultancy McKinsey , where she worked for Deutsche Bahn, among others.

In 2007 she moved from McKinsey to Deutsche Bahn and initially headed business development and marketing in sales . From the end of 2011 she was the company's head of sales. In this role she restructured the sales department, from counter and vending machine sales to internet sales. She also worked to keep the company's timetable data under lock and key.

Since August 2015 she has been chairwoman of the board of management of DB Fernverkehr. She succeeded Berthold Huber , her successor as Head of Sales was Ralph Körfgen, who has been Head of Corporate Development at Deutsche Bahn since 2009. The supervisory board criticized the cast. During this time the night trains of the Deutsche Bahn were abolished.

Since January 1, 2019, Birgit Bohle has been the Board Member for Human Resources and Labor Director at Deutsche Telekom AG , and will succeed Christian Illek , who will be the new CFO, on the Telekom Board of Management. Its supervisory board passed a corresponding resolution on July 13, 2018. From January 1, 2020, Bohle will also be responsible for data protection, law and compliance. Up until now, Thomas Kremer had looked after the issues as a separate board area. He is due to retire on March 31, 2020. Telekom founded the board department for data protection, legal affairs and compliance in 2008 in response to the surveillance affair. Michael Peterson is Bohle's successor as CEO of DB Fernverkehr.

Bohle is married and has two children.
