Judith Hoag (born June 29, 1968 in Newburyport , Massachusetts ) is an American actress . She is best known for her role as Gwendoline Piper-Cromwell in the Halloween Town films.

Life and accomplishments

Hoag appeared in plays as a child and studied acting. She played her first feature film role in the television drama Bull and the Streetgirl from 1985. In the action film Turtles (1990), she played the lead role of reporter April O'Neil, who becomes a friend of the title characters ; this role was recommended to her by Robin Williams , her costar in the movie Cadillac Man .

Hoag played a bigger role in the fantasy comedy Halloween Town - Meine Oma ist 'ne Wexe (1998) and in the sequels Halloweentown II (2001), Halloweentown III: Halloweentown Highschool (2004) and Halloweentown 4 - The Witches' College (2006). She played a bigger role in 1999 in the crime drama Bad City Blues . From 2006 to 2007 and from 2009 to 2011 she played the role of Cindy Dutton Price in the series Big Love . She has also made numerous guest appearances on television series, including Ghost Whisperer - Voices from Beyond (2006), Grey's Anatomy (2007), Sons of Anarchy , The Mentalist (both 2008), CSI: NY , Private Practice (both 2010 ), Castle , Grimm (both 2011), Criminal Minds and The Middle (both 2012). Since 2012 she has played the role of Tandy Hampton in the ABC series Nashville .

In 1988, Hoag married actor Vince Grant . They have two children together. The couple is now divorced.
