Rosi Steinberger

Rosi Steinberger (born March 9, 1960 in Velden , Lower Bavaria ) is a German agricultural scientist and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

education and profession

Steinberger grew up on a farm near Taufkirchen (Vils) . From 1966 to 1980 she went to school, which she completed in Landshut with the Abitur. She then studied agricultural sciences in Weihenstephan and graduated in 1986 with a degree in agricultural engineering. From 1987 to 1991 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Plant Production Weihenstephan, which belongs to the Technical University of Munich . From 2006 to 2013 she worked as a research assistant for Anton Hofreiter, member of the Bundestag . After her marriage, she moved to Kumhausen in 1995 . She has two children.

Political career

From 2004 to 2014 she was chairwoman of the district association of the Greens in the Landshut district and from 2008 to autumn 2013 she was chairwoman of the district association of the Greens in Lower Bavaria.

Public offices

In 2002 she was elected to the local council in Kumhausen. From 2008 to 2012 she was third mayor, from 2012 to 2014 second mayor of Kumhausen. In 2008 she became a member of the Landshut district council and deputy parliamentary group spokeswoman.

In the state elections in 2013 , she was number 1 on the list in the constituency of Lower Bavaria and moved to the Bavarian state parliament as a member. She is a member of the Committee for Environment and Consumer Protection and the Committee for Science and Art. She is also the spokesperson for consumer and animal protection and research policy in the parliamentary group. In March 2016, she was re-elected as co-spokeswoman for the Ecology and Economy working group of the green parliamentary group. Furthermore, she is the deputy chairwoman of the prison advisory board in Landshut and deputy chairwoman of the prison advisory board in Straubing.

Further commitment

She sits on the acting supervisory board (2016) of “Bürgerenergie Isar e. G. ”and is a participant of the“ Dialog Forum East-South Landshut Bypass in the course of the B15neu ”, which was set up on April 7, 2015 . In Kumhausen she is involved in the partnership association. She is also a founding member of the coalition for nuclear phase-out and the protection alliance for animals and the environment in the Landshut region.
