Samantha Günther

Samantha Miriam Günther (born April 5, 1992 in Werdau ) is a young German documentary filmmaker.

Life

Samantha Günther attended the Alexander von Humboldt high school in Werdau until 2010. After graduating from high school, she moved to Mittweida and studied media management there at the university . She also volunteered at the Central German School of Journalism . In 2012 she attended the summer school at the Tomsk Polytechnic University .

In 2012 she made her first documentary RECHTSzuHAUS in an eight-person student team . The team was awarded first place at the Chemnitz Peace Prize. The film deals with right-wing extremist structures and organizations in the Chemnitz district . With this award, the organization Exit Deutschland , which supports people in leaving the right-wing scene, became aware of Günther and her team. Günther then directed an image film for Exit Germany.

In 2013 she supported the film project Friendship Middle East by Jeremias Eichler in Israel and Palestine .
