Susanna Thompson (born January 27, 1958 in San Diego , California ) is an American actress . She is best known for her television roles, including various roles within the Star Trek universe.

Life

Thompson is also known for the role of Karen Collector in the series Again with Feeling . In addition, Thompson played a recurring role as the Borg Queen in the television series Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager . Thompson took on the role after the Borg Queen's first actress, Alice Krige , had turned down the role for the Voyager episodes. For the final episode of Voyager , " Endgame ," Thompson could n't play the role because of her work for Once Again with Feeling , so Krige took over. In Starship Enterprise: The Next Century , Thompson had different roles in two episodes.

In the reunited episode of the 1995 series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , she and Terry Farrell showed one of the first same-sex kisses in US television history, which is why the episode was initially not broadcast in some US states.

In 2006 and 2007, Thompson was in a recurring role as Army Lt. Col. Hollis man in the series NCIS alongside Mark Harmon to see. In 2009 she played one of the leading roles in the television series Kings , Queen Rose Benjamin.

Thompson holds a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University . Her husband is a professor at the same university.
