KK Zuken ( Japanese 株式会社 図 研 , Kabushiki-gaisha Zuken , English ZUKEN Inc. ) is a manufacturer of software products in the field of electronic design automation (EDA for short) based in Yokohama , Japan . It is one of the three big manufacturers who map practically all facets of electronics development (EDA) in their own software tools and not just like a large number of smaller software manufacturers just the circuit board design. The other two manufacturers are Cadence Design Systems and Mentor Graphics .
history
The company was founded in 1976. The CR-2000 (CREATE-2000) series for HP-1000 PCs was released in 1978. Zuken America Inc. was founded in the United States in 1983 . CR-3000 for Unix for PCB production using CAD / CAM was published in 1988. In Germany in 1992 the Zuken Europe GmbH and in 1993 in Beijing the established Zuken Inc. China. In 1994 the company Racal-Redac Ltd. (UK) taken over. The series CR-5000, a CAD / CAM program for printed circuit boards for Unix & PC and the data management system PDM-5000 were published in 1994. INCASES Engineering GmbH (Paderborn, Germany) was purchased in 2000 for around 3.8 million US dollars . CIM-Team GmbH (Ulm, Germany), founded in 1987, was taken over in 2006, which is reflected in the software release E³.series two years later .
