Gothenburg International Film Festival

The Göteborg International Film Festival (GIFF) , formerly the Gothenburg Film Festival , is a year in Gothenburg held forming Film Festival and is considered one of the most important events of the Scandinavian film industry. The film festival was founded in 1979.

The 36th GIFF took place from January 25 to February 4, 2013.

The main prize in the international competition is the Dragon Award Best Nordic Film for the best Nordic film. Further prizes are awarded to the best short film and the best first work ( The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award ).
