Casa Otero

The Casa Otero is a building in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

The building, which was constructed between 1885 and 1895, is located in Barrio Centro on 1332 Calle Convención between Avenida 18 de Julio and San José . The architect Julian Masquelez was responsible for the construction . The Casa Otero, which was originally designed as a residential building, now houses office space. It houses a branch of the Uruguayan Ministry of Defense .

Casa Otero has been classified as a Bien de Interés Municipal since 1995 .
