Pete Koslow, a former special-duty criminal who has improved, works undercover for the FBI to infiltrate the Polish Mafia drug trafficking in New York City . As a final step towards freedom, Kozlov must return to the place where he fought so hard, Bale Hill Prison, where his mission becomes a race against time because he could be identified as an informant .

The Informer is based on the novel Tre sekunder (2009) by Börge Hellström and Anders Roslund. Ewert Grens in his late fifties - a detective superintendent of the Stockholm police - feels responsible for the death of his wife and now avoids all social contact. He eats coffee and cake and sleeps on the couch in his office. Increasingly, Grens declines not only physically, but also mentally. However, because he has closed every case so far, he is also trying to solve a new criminal case that has been assigned to him.
