Martin McCann

Martin Stephen McCann (born July 20, 1983 in Belfast , Northern Ireland ) is an Irish actor .

Life

Martin McCann grew up with his brother and sister in the Divis Flats in Belfast . After appearing in a stage version of A Clockwork Orange , McCann was discovered by Richard Attenborough in 2006 and recommended by Stephen Spielberg, who gave him a role in the miniseries The Pacific . In 2010 McCann got the role of Bono in the musical comedy Killing Bono , a film that dealt with the frontman of the band U2 . In the film The Survivalist , McCann got another leading role in 2014 and plays the eponymous protagonist, a survivor living in the forest in a post-apocalyptic world who takes in a mother and her daughter.

McCann is the patron of the not-for-profit YouthAction in Northern Ireland.
