Norman Casmir

Norman Casmir (born October 16, 1930 ) is a German foil fencer , German champion and Olympic participant. He fought at the fencing club Hermannia Frankfurt .

Casmir is the son of the Olympic silver medalist and multiple German champion Erwin Casmir and the great-nephew of Gustav Casmir , who won the first international medals for Germany in a fencing competition at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens.

At the Olympic Games in 1952 Casmir was the youngest participating German fencer and took part with the foil in both individual and team competitions. In the individual he was eliminated in the second round with only one win, the team also lost in the second round as the last round.

In 1953 and 1956 Casmir won the German championships . In 1952 and 1955 he took second place. In 1952 he won the German team championships in foil together with his father. Also in 1951 and 1953–1955 Hermannia Frankfurt was team champion in foil, but the exact team line-ups are not known.
