Paul Ben-Victor (born July 24, 1965 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York ; actually Paul Friedman ) is an American actor .

Paul Ben-Victor grew up in New York City. He later studied acting at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh , where he also graduated.

Paul Ben-Victor played his first television roles in the television film The Honorable Family Act and in the television series Cagney & Lacey . After he played minor supporting roles on US television at the beginning of his acting career, Paul Ben-Victor can now be seen in larger supporting roles and leading roles in television productions . For example, as Chief Inspector Stan McQueen, he is a permanent member of the television series In Plain Sight or plays an important supporting role as the Greek-born criminal Spiros "Vondas" Vondopoulos in the television series The Wire .
