life and career

Fischler was born in Los Angeles in 1969. His father Bill Fischler bought a restaurant in Malibu in 1974 , which he named after his son Patrick's Roadhouse . The restaurant regularly visited by Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others , was continued by Patrick's brother Anthony Fischler after the death of his father.

Fischler lived in South Africa for three years before the family returned to Los Angeles in 1985. There Fischler attended acting courses and appeared in smaller theater productions. From the late 1980s he worked at Paramount Pictures , including in the Script Department , where he was entrusted with the review of detailed scripts.

At the suggestion of his friend, Fischler decided to devote himself entirely to acting and first began studying at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. There he met his future wife, the actress Lauren Bowles (a half-sister of Julia Louis-Dreyfus ) . After completing his studies, he returned to Los Angeles in 1992, where he founded the theater group Neurotic Young Urbanites with Bowles and other graduates . During one of these appearances, he was discovered by an agent and sent to the casting of the Jan de Bont film Speed , which earned him his first supporting role in a feature film. Also in 1994 were supporting roles in Shadow and the Curse of Khan and Unter Haien in Hollywood .

In 1996 he played, again under the direction of Jan de Bont, a major supporting role in the disaster film Twister . This was followed by a recurring role in the television series Nash Bridges .

In 1999, Fischler took on a role in Mulholland Drive, originally planned as a pilot for a television series, directed by David Lynch . After the film was rejected by the television station ABC and Lynch extended the project to a feature film with new producers, Fischler was invited again in October 2000 to shoot additional scenes.

Fischler became known to a larger audience in 2009 through his appearances in television series such as Southland or Lost, and especially his role as Jimmy Barrett in the AMC series Mad Men .

In 2011, Fischler portrayed mobster Mickey Cohen in the computer game LA Noire using performance capture .

Fischler has been married to Lauren Bowles since 2004 . In 2009 their daughter was born.
