Lauren Elizabeth Bowles (born March 24, 1970 in Washington, DC ) is an American actress , best known for the role of Holly Cleary from the series True Blood .

Life

Lauren Bowles was born in the US capital Washington, DC . She is the half-sister of the famous actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus . Bowles graduated from New York University with a degree in drama .

She has been an actress since 1991. She made guest appearances on over 30 television series, including CSI: Vegas , Navy CIS , Private Practice and Criminal Minds . She played a first recurring role as a waitress in the Seinfeld series . She gained greater fame through the role of Holly Cleary in the series True Blood , which she played in over 40 episodes. Bowles has also appeared in films such as Ghost World , Anything Goes - A Week Without Rules and The Turkey Of Panem - The Starving Games . After True Blood , she appeared in Detroit 1-8-7 , The Closer , Mom , Scandal , The Messengers , Veep - The Vice President , Modern Family , Castle Rock and How to Get Away with Murder , among others .

Since 2004 she has been married to the actor Patrick Fischler , whom she met in college. Since 2009 they have been parents to a daughter named Fia.
