The Messengers is a US science fiction - television series Eoghan O'Donnell. The series was produced from 2014 to 2015 by Thunder Road Pictures, CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television for the television channel The CW . The series consists of 13 episodes and revolves around five strangers who are endowed with extraordinary powers. It premiered on The CW from April 17 to July 24, 2015. The German-language first broadcast was on ProSieben Maxx from April 4 to May 9, 2016.

After a mysterious object falls to earth, five young strangers are caught by a pulse of energy and passed out. When they wake up again they realize that they have extraordinary powers. The five include scientist Vera Buckley, unemployed Erin Calder, high school student Peter Moore, federal agent Raul Garcia and preacher Joshua Silburn Jr. Over time, the five get to know each other and realize that they are the messengers of the Apocalypse belong and should stop the four horsemen of the apocalyptic.

The premiere of the first episode in the United States was originally announced for April 10, 2015, but was postponed by a week. The first broadcast took place on April 17, 2015 on The CW . After three episodes broadcast, the broadcaster decided not to continue the series beyond the first season.

In Germany, the beamed Free TV transmitter ProSieben Maxx the complete series of 4 April to 9 May 2016 in double episodes.
